Watch & Pray!
Mark 13:32-
The Beginning
Since 2004 we have been working in South India to help children, widows and Pastors. It has been a lot of fun and a privilege for us. We are looking to the future with great excitement for what God has in store for us. We have had a hard year this last year but it has brought us to a place to be vulnerable with ourselves before God and what he wants for us as well as Maghimai Ministries/House of Hope. We believe God is making a shift in our ministry. When we started the ministry in 2004 it was after the Tsunami hit India and much need was there we started out of compassion. Our compassion to work in India and with the poor and needy has grown but it now directed with a vision coupled with our giftings that God has given us. We know God wants us in India full time and our direction has changed from building a childrens home to starting a church and prayer house.
Why the change?
Paul tells us in Ephesians 1:18 says, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling” As you see it says that our hearts would be open for the hope of HIS calling! Although we have been doing a lot of work in India we have not really caught His calling for our lives in India. So we believe now is the time to do what has been confirmed in our lives for the ministry in India. It is time for us to Watch & Pray.
What does it mean to Watch & Pray
To Watch – to closely observe. We need to be looking out for our master’s return.
To Pray – to find our dependence on Christ alone, our main communication with Christ.
We believe that we are living in a time for us to be aware that the Lord could return. The Bible tells us that we do not know the day or the hour but we must watch and pray. That means for us to prepare the people of India in to know who Jesus is in their lives not just an added god to their many god of India. We also have seen many leaders put into a place of worship and people look for the dependence on their leader or pastor rather than God. Ernest is called to be an Apostle like Paul, Galatians 1:15, 16 “But when it pleased God, who separated me frommy mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles”
We know God is calling us to show His Son Jesus so that many will hear the truth of the gospel. The gospel has been in India since the Apsotle Thomas yet the fruit is less then 3%!
